Brookwood Station - "Station of the Year"? You may need to vote...

SWR NRW – Vote for Brookwood in World Cup of Stations 2026. Brookwood has been shortlisted for Station of the Year in the World Cup of Stations 2026.
More than 150 nominations were received this time around, so making it on the shortlist is a significant achievement.

Rail Delivery Group (RDG) oversees the World Cup of Stations competition, an annual contest to find the Station of the Year. There is a different theme each time; this year’s theme celebrates the stations creating connections that matter, and the role the railway plays in bringing people together.

At Brookwood we have transformed unused railway land into an inclusive garden where railway families and the wider community can remember loved ones, discover shared heritage and connect with nature. The garden was created as part of our Railway 200 celebrations last year. Created with more than 30 volunteers giving their time and hard work, it turns the station’s unique link to Brookwood Cemetery into a lasting place of reflection, belonging and community care. But now, we need your help.

As this is a public vote, Brookwood can only win with your backing. This year, voting will be in two stages. First, stations have been split into regional groups. Then, the winner of each region will battle it out in the final. Voting opens on Monday 12th October.

We would be grateful if you could generate support for this campaign by promoting the World Cup of Stations on your social media channels or email newsletters, to encourage your followers to back Brookwood as Station of the Year. Whether you record a short video yourself or simply post these pre-prepared assets on your X, LinkedIn, TikTok or other accounts, we welcome your voice to spread the word.
