Wheeled Bins Meeting
Nearly 100 interested residents attended WBC's wheeled bin road show last month to find out more information ahead of the distribution of new bins. To help local residents the BVA committee have approached a company and sourced a discount garden digester which eats anything!!! It will be available to villagers through the BVA. We hope to have one on show at the AGM and orders can be made there. Contact Neil Thomas |

Brookwood Canal
Festival
I am delighted to be able to inform you that the Woking Canal festival will move from central Woking next year to take place in Brookwood over the May Bank holiday.
Up to 100 longboats will gather between the A322 and the Hermitage basin and will use the stretch of canal along the old hospital site. The BVA will work closely with the canal festival organisers and WBC. I will update you with details in future. |

Brookwood School comes under the
microscope!
But still comes out on top. A local reader took me to task about my praise over Brookwood School's OFSTED report. I checked my copy of the report again and am happy with my editorial, but thanks for your comments. Whilst on the subject of the school, with the help of the parents and friends the school have come out on top in the Peacocks schools awards and have won £3,000 worth of sports equipment. Thanks to all parents and friends for their help. |
Connaught
Road Speedway
Rumours that SCC have agreed plans to turn Connaught Road into a speedway circuit have been denied - only joking! Though some drivers appear to think that it is true. There have been a number of accidents and near misses recently with cars and benches being destroyed. Your committee have been discussing the continued problem of speeding in the village. I am sure this problem will be raised at the AGM and also Pirbright's recent attempt to ban all HGV's from Pirbright!!! Where do you think that the HGV's will go?? |
