Annual General Meeting Over 30 local residents attended the BVA AGM on 23rd November. Neil Thomas (Chair) gave a review of the year and spoke about the BVA's plans and ideas for the future of Brookwood Village. Short presentations were given by our local Councillor Philip Goldenberg, our Surrey County Councillor Elizabeth Compton, a Police duo by Community Support Officer Gareth Morgan and Neighbourhood Specialist Officer (for Knaphill, St Johns & Brookwood) Tina Spencer and Vicar of Knaphill with Brookwood Nick Grew . Discussions included Planning issues (including proposals to increase weekend aircraft flights into Farnborough Airfield to 5,000 pa), Pirbright arch, wheelie bins, composters and wormeries, Kids Party (10th Dec, over 50 kids so far), Sheets Heath bridge and gates (by John Crook), Brookwood Newsletter (Mike Peel), 20:20 Puppet service at St Saviours, Remembrance service, Quiet space open church between 5.30 & 7.30pm Wednesdays, prayer box at station, Christingle service (Sat 4th), more planning issues; incinerator, 5 acres, Brookwood Club - 5 houses?, Farnborough Airport - Rushmore & Woking Borough Councils, Police matters, youth issues & stop checks. The BVA committee was proposed and elected with some addition. Brookwood School has a centenary next year. More village activities are planned also more discussion on the Village centre, the Country Park and Connaught Road.
