Summer Term 2001 Programme
27th April JUMBLE COLLECTING
Bring coats if cold, normal times - any parents who can stay to help sort and set up would be very welcome.
Bring any jumble you may have saved at home.
Saturday 28th April JUMBLE SALE - 11am - 2pm
We'll be getting ready from 9:00 - most parents have already been hassled to help - if you suddenly find yourself free, do come and help out for an hour or two. Jumble still welcome before 10:30.
Sunday 29th April ST. GEORGE'S DAY PARADE
Parents are welcome to stay and watch the promise renewal ceremony - if there is room! Parking is likely to be a problem so please car share. Bring raincoats if wet. Wear smart uniform.
4th May Brookwood Cemetery - the Gory Bits
A guide from the Brookwood Cemetery Society will be showing us the particularly horrible parts of the Cemetery - wear wellies or shoes that can get wet or muddy, bring a coat, wear uniform.
11th May SIXERS AND SECONDERS MEETING
6pm in the Committee Room
BADGEWORK AND REHEARSALS FOR THE AGM
18th May GROUP A.G.M. - 7:30 for 8pm
Not a normal meeting. Do come along - the business is brief and each section then puts on an entertainment. We would like the boys for a last minute rehearsal at 7:30 please. The AGM starts at 8 - but there will be refreshments and plenty to look at beforehand. It should finish around 9:30.
25th May National Asthma Campaign 7 Step Challenge
Route still to be decided but will be about 7km long. Details and permission slip to follow
Bring a backpack containing a drink, small snack, raincoat, hat, pencil, paper and sponsor form. Wear shoes and clothes suitable for walking, group scarf and cub jumper.
1st June HALF TERM - NO CUBS
8th June SHELTER BUILDING

Saturday 16th June VILLAGE FETE - 2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY
We are planning to go in our own Space Rocket made by Bob White. I hope the Cubs will all turn out to walk in the parade it is usually great fun, and Cubs get to walk in the middle of the road !
The Scout Group is running several stalls and help would be gratefully received.
22nd June TREASURE HUNT
Saturday 23rd June SCRAM
Traffic is likely to be a problem, so please car share if possible. Wear uniform and bring a packed lunch, extra drinks and either sunhat/suncream or raincoat & wellies depending on the weather. I will let you know any more details as I get them..
29th June Tracking in the Cemetery
Meet at the hall, usual times, wear Cub jumper and scarf, but wellies/trainers depending on weather.
You may need a coat.
6th July SLEDGING WITH THE BEAVERS
Wear long trousers, trainers, long sleeves and gloves - this avoids nasty scrapes if boys come off sledges (not unknown!) Wear group scarf and bring a raincoat and cycle helmet if you have one. We will be going by coach which will be subsidised by the Scout Group. Cost £5.
13th July RAFTS, HOVERCRAFTS AND PLANES
20th July GAMES ON THE GREEN
This is an annual event where the different sections of the group have a chance to meet up with each other. We will be meeting at 5:45 to have a wide game with the Beavers, followed by time on our own for the Cubs to work towards their Athlete's badges, followed by a joint game with the Scouts. Please collect your Cubs at 7:30.
Drinks and biscuits will be provided for the boys. Families are welcome to stay if they would like to.

Because this is the first time we have posted a programme on the web, we have left out some details such as names and places. Please contact me for further details, or if you have or are a prospective Cub (aged 8-11).
